The Con

One of 2007's best!

it made my top 10 at #3

The two canadian twins are out with a fifth album in 10 years. It seems like they've grown back into the source of their rockish first 3 albums as their last "So Jealous" was more pop oriented. Now, you have to make the separation between the two girls when you listen to the cd, and some people might find this difficult. The sisters have two very different writing styles, music and lyrics wise. Some might say it makes it harder to follow the record ambiance but I, for myself, find it more interesting and more challenging. It also makes it harder to get tired of it cause of its diffenrences. It's a darker side of the girls, more tormented. With the help of Hunter Burgan(AFI), Matt Sharp(The rentals and ex-Weezer), Kaki King, Jason McGerr(Death cab for cutie) and Chris Walla(Death cab for cutie), they really ended up putting out one of the best 2007 Cds(It made my top 10 albums of 2007 at #3). If you're not too much into their music you at least have to admire those girls for their courage and the influence they had/have on the indie scene more particularly in the women indie scene. I've been thinking of Tegan And Sara like the band to watch for the past 10 years and with "So Jealous" they finally put themselves on the map and now with "The Con" they are just proving to all the suspicious out there not believing that they belong in the line of the greatest indie artists of this generation, that they in fact do.
